Абстракт

The study aims to investigate the agrochemical and morphological characteristics of meadow-grey soils in Azerbaijan’s Mughan Plain and to evaluate the effectiveness of newly developed organic–mineral complexes derived from oil shales, plant residues, and wastewater sludge on the growth and productivity of cotton plants. Soil profiles were described morphologically and analyzed for granulometric composition, humus content, and chemical indicators (total nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) using standard agrochemical methods. Field experiments were conducted across four variants (control, NPK, and two formulations of the organic-mineral complexes) with four replications, using the “Ag Gizil” cotton variety to compare traditional mineral fertilizers against the organic–mineral complexes. The application of organic–mineral complexes derived from local waste products is both economically and ecologically viable. These complexes enhance soil fertility, improve organic–mineral composition, and provide superior biometric growth in cotton plants compared to standard mineral fertilization, offering a sustainable solution for waste utilization in Azerbaijan.
