Impact of biochar combined with nitrogen fertilization on bulk density and porosity of Fluvisol

Abstract

Field experiment with corn was carried out on sandy loam Fluvisol at the experimental field Tsalapitsa in the period 2019-2021, to study the modifications in bulk density, particle density and porosity of the soil under the influence of combined amendment of biochar of oak bark at (0, 5 and 10 t/ha) with nitrogen fertilization (130 and 260 kg/ha). Statistically significant decrease in bulk density and increase in total porosity was found as a result of amendment of biochar combined with nitrogen fertilizer.
