Abstract

Teres and Deya are new high-yielding lavender varieties created at the Institute for roses and aromatic plants, Kazanlak during the period 2004-2015 through individual selection in the first seed generation. Teres was selected from a seed population obtained by open pollination of the Sevtopolis variety, and Deya from a seed population obtained by open pollination of the Druzhba variety. The varieties were tested in the Executive Agency of Variety Testing, Field Inspection and Seed Control in 2020. They belong to the species Lavandula angustifolia Mill. During the flowering period, the plants of both varieties are rounded, upright with a collected habit suitable for mechanized harvesting. In terms of the rate of development and flowering, Teres and Deya are late-flowering. In the conditions of the Kazanlak field, the yields of fresh inflorescences of the Teres variety reach up to 780 kg/da, and of Deya up to 560 kg/da. The yields of essential oil per hectare can reach up to 15 kg/da. The main advantage of the varieties is the high content of linalyl acetate in the essential oil - in the range of 38-44%.
