Abstract

Due to its drought resistance and high productivity, grain sorghum is increasingly becoming a crop capable of providing stable grain yields during the more frequent droughts in recent years. Promising grain sorghum lines selected at the Agricultural Institute were studied and their productivity and morphological uniformity were evaluated. The electrical conductivity of the cell membranes of the leaves was measured during the active vegetation of the plants, which can be used as an indicator of the resistance to atmospheric drought. The studied grain sorghum lines are distinguished by good morphological uniformity and grain yield, which makes them suitable for further selection and implementation in practice.
