Investigation of the Relationship Irrigation – Yield for the Cultivars of Welsh Onion (Allium fistulosum L.)
Keywords:
Allium fistulosum; drip irrigation; Jananese buncing onion; Welsh onionAbstract
It was studied the irrigation regime of two new cultivars of Welsh onion: Parade and Performer in the experimental field of Agricultural University – Plovdiv during the period 2009 – 2010 by drip irrigation. The irrigation treatments were: 1) irrigation with optimal irrigation application Mopt; 2) irrigation with reduced irrigation application – 0.75 Mopt; 3) irrigation with reduced irrigation application – 0.50 Mopt. The reduced irrigation application leads to a yield decrease of Welsh onion by treatments 2 and 3 with 28.5% and 47.3% respectively. The best indexes were recorded by cultivar Performer.
