Abstract

During the period 2010-2012 in the experimental field of the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources - Sadovo was carried out an agronomic evaluation of 21 accessions of two species of fescue. The study was conducted on an experimental area of 9 m2 in three repetitions; the area of each accession was 27 m2 and the total area of all accessions was 567 m2. The annual fresh yield (kg/da) is established for meadow and tall fescue. There was studied the fresh yield, hay yield and dry matter yield in the first cut (kg/da) for both fescue species. The tall fescue had higher productive capacity compared to the meadow fescue.
