Abstract

The reaction of wine grapevine cultivars grown in the region of Kyustendil to low winter temperatures in controlled (laboratory) conditions was studied. Тhe results for the three controlled freezing levels (-15,0ºС; -20,0ºС; -25,0ºС), show that the highest hardness to low winter temperatures have the cultivars with interspecific origin - Slava and Kaylaskish rubin, and the lowest - standard cultivars of Vitis vinifera L. - Tamyanka and Pamid. Statistically proven interspecies cultivars have superior to standards in terms of their cold hardness. The differences between the cultivars are most affected by temperatures of -20,0°C and -25,0°C.
